About Diana Garcia.... Graphic Designer | Arts Facilitator
I have lived in England for the past 11 years;
it has been a roller coaster full of surprises. I’ve been conveying my imagination onto paper since I arrived in this country, as an immigrant it was my only form of expression and communication. I decided to further my skills in Art and in 2003 I completed two years Double Award AVCE in Art and Design.
I immediately felt passionate about the power of visual communication and obtained in 2007 a First Class honours BA in Graphic Design. Since then I have explored typography and developed my skills of visual and graphic communication. For the past two years I have worked as Junior Designer within the Design Industry but also I have had the experience of working in a variety of community and youth arts projects in London.
I have led a range of different arts activities for young people and children from a range of backgrounds; this includes organising youth projects, networking, combining a high quality art/design work with an empowering participatory youth work methodology.
I now seek to continue to grow my knowledge and experience as a graphic designer and arts facilitator. I believe that the arts and design can be a powerful social tool that can transcend a variety of backgrounds and social barriers.
